Relocating from its long-standing home in Soho, multi-award-winning post-production studio Coffee & TV appointed Zero Workspace to design and deliver its new 9,000 sq ft studio in Clerkenwell.

The brief was to create much more than a traditional office. Coffee & TV wanted a high-quality, hospitality-led environment where its team, creatives and high-profile clients could work, relax and collaborate on film and television productions.

Zero Workspace provided full design services from RIBA Stages 0–6 alongside construction, delivering specialist post-production studios and editing suites, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, phone booths and client hospitality areas. The space also incorporates extensive technical infrastructure, with fibre-connected suites supporting the transfer of large volumes of production data.

At the heart of the project is the Grading Theatre – a fully acoustically isolated 20-person cinema with tiered seating, a Dolby Atmos sound system and cinema-grade projection. Working within the constraints of a conventional office building, the team delivered the specialist acoustic environment to exacting technical standards.

Completed within the 12-week programme, the project enabled Coffee & TV to relocate seamlessly ahead of the expiry of its existing lease. Following the success of the original fit out, Zero Workspace was appointed again 18 months later to expand the studio into the building’s lower ground floor.
